How It All Started

Scot and Katie’s personal passion for hunting is one of the many things that makes Burchell-Wolf Safaris unique. They do not view their operation as a career, but rather as their dream. They understand how much more there is to going on safari than just the taking of beautiful trophies. They understand a safari is made up of experiences. The tasting of different foods, the immersion into different cultures, the incredible people met along the way, the nights in camp by the fire telling stories, and the enjoyment of watching fiery sunrises and sunsets.

Our Way Of Hunting

As hunters themselves, Scot and Katie understand the enjoyment that comes with a challenge when hunting. This is why they operate off a 30,000 acre property (50 square miles) with only a single boundary fence, no internal fencing. They believe fare chase is important for ethical hunting. Scot and Katie do not want to bind their clients to a package. Rather, they simply charge a day fee and allow clients to choose animals from their price list. This way, clients do no have to feel the pressure of trying to hunt a number of specific animals during their safari, but rather, can decide as the opportunities are presented.

How We Run Things

Oftentimes, there are observers that come along who are not necessarily interested in hunting. This is why Scot and Katie have teamed up with a local spa to provide on site massages for the clients who would prefer to stay at the lodge then go out into the African bush. Simply let Katie know and she will make arrangements for your relaxing day in camp.

Scot and Katie know Africa is a place many people have not been before and many people want to explore. This is why they are proud to go above and beyond and offer both day trips and overnight trips during your safari all throughout Namibia’s most iconic places. Scot and Katie invite you to travel with them up to Etosha National Park to witness the white elephants in person. Or, let them guide you on a trip down to the Skeleton Coast to enjoy some surf fishing and walk up on the remainders of old shipwrecks. Scot and Katie have made it their mission to make sure your safari is a trip of a lifetime, one you will never forget.

The Next Generation Of Hunters

Scot and Katie know the importance of passing hunting on to the next generation in order to keep it alive. To encourage bringing the next generation along on your safari, Scot and Katie offer kids 12 and under free. They believe getting kids out at a young age to experience hunting for themselves is the best way to keep hunting relevant. Hunt with Burchell-Wolf Safaris and you will experience the real, wild Africa.

“I know trying to decide on a place to go hunting in Africa can be difficult. Having hunted the Burchell’s Trudia farm in Northern Namibia, I can tell you that it is a great farm to hunt. The terrain has a rugged beauty with lots of great animals. 40 inch gemsbok, 50 inch kudu are all possible. The living arrangement is simple with tented chalets that remind one of days gone by with modern amenities. The Boma is the center of it all with great authentic African meals being served. Scot and Katie are gracious hosts who will instantly make you feel welcome and you will leave feeling like family. Everyone works to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Do not hesitate to book if you get the chance.”

“Hi, I’m Jeff Smith I’m from Hernando Mississippi. My first and second safaris were with Scot Burchell and his family. Hunting with them is the best experience I’ve ever had. Excellent accommodations, the food is great, and the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Their properties are huge and beautiful. The bird life in Namibia is something you just have to experience. Never a dull moment. We saw numerous trophy animals and their trophy care is second to none. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have people who care about your trophies as much as you do. You will arrive as a client and leave as lifetime friends. Thank you Scot for all my memories, I will cherish our friendship forever.”
